　　刘家伟（郭晋安）就读理工学院，与邻居张顺品（林嘉华）俱热爱踢足球，结为好友，两人同时心仪江可宁（林其欣），顺品自卑学历不及家伟，甘愿让爱，可宁长期寄居人下，在家伟鼓励下，找到日式食品店侍应工作，初遇名利引诱，毅然与家伟分手。家伟母亲庄丽棠（黄凯欣）本是刘庆成（关海山）外室，为给儿子名份，后嫁予庆成，家伟一向不谅解父亲，父子感情不睦；庆成女儿淑珍、女婿李永祥、男孙建邦、孙媳王素芬恐怕家伟母子分薄身家，屡屡设计陷害，独玉珍女儿李玉贤（何美婷）心存正义。
　　家伟、顺品结识富家子锺文杰（罗嘉良），文杰狂追顺品之妹紫珊（刘小慧），两人共谐连理，三个老友合资开药房，庆成不满文杰之父存信倾慕丽裳，复遭淑珍等人唆摆，一时激动，中风入院，幸无大碍。家伟认识社工童瑶（周海媚），一见锺情，顺品再一次无言退出。顺品读夜校时认识任教的玉贤，两人堕爱河。庆成与家伟再次发生冲突，在丽裳劝解下，家伟终明白父亲的为人，赶往医院探望弥留之际的父亲，庆成含笑而逝。家伟接管饼店生意，发觉玉珍已做手脚，在顺品帮忙下，众人艰苦经营；家伟重遇已厌倦风尘生涯的可宁，可宁决重夺家伟……

　　该剧翻拍自日本人气电视剧《昼颜》，讲述因为禁断的爱而经历残酷体验的成年人们的成长电视剧。由《坏家伙们》导演金政民执导，刘素静编剧执笔。
